Internationally acclaimed performance poet Maddie Godfrey returns to Perth with her first fringe show "If My Body Was A Poem".
Using spoken word poetry and her own personal experiences, Maddie will initiate a compassionate conversation about body poltics, gender and sexuality.

This Saturday (17th December 2016) is our final gig for the year. We end the year with feature poet Splodge, and Mega Open-Mike, plus announcement of the Chriku (Christmas Haiku) competition.
This Saturday (10th December 2016) our feature poet is Virginia O’Keefe, and if the stars and planets align themselves we expect to have Glen Phillips reading John Ryan’s poetry.
Virginia O'Keeffe has lived across most states and taught in high schools for most of her life. She is fascinated by social history. She has been short listed twice for the Tom Collins prize and been commended in the Creatrix Poetry Awards. She has also written short stories and a column in her local monthly suburban magazine.
The Writing Connection 2017
a course in meaning
The course content is based on the idea that the pivotal stages in world literature express stages of relatedness or love.
In The Grammar of Love we will look at the way that significant writers have dealt with these stages in their work. We will use their attempts as a springboard for our own writing.
This Saturday (1st December 2016) our feature poets are Rikki Livermore and Toby Marks.
