Perth Poetry Club has its second 2024 Mega-Open mike event this Saturday 6th April, 2pm-4pm, at The Moon Café and on Zoom.

Perth Poetry Club holds Mega Open-mike events quarterly as an opportunity for every open-miker to be a feature with 5 minutes (maximum) of performance time.

Best to prepare your performance. Try something different, experimental. Edit and refresh your poems. Hone your performance skills.

Past events have been memorable for the quality of the poetry and performances.

Perth Poetry Club turns 15, and has wonderful poets Coral Carter, BRiLO, Stephen Cole plus open-mike this Saturday 30th March, 2pm-4pm, at The Moon Café and on Zoom.

Jackson and Helchild started Perth Poetry Club on 28th March 2009. Stalwarts Coral Carter and BRiLO have helped keep the club going and Stephen Cole has attended more club gigs that anyone else, and these three are honoured by being features on this day.

We will have pizzas at half-time and at the end of the gig to celebrate.

Perth Poetry Club has wonderful poet Amelia Walker plus open-mike this Saturday 23rd March, 2pm-4pm, at The Moon Café and on Zoom.

Amelia Walker (she/her) is a poet who lives and works on Kaurna* Yerta, also known as Adelaide, South Australia. She began writing as a teenager, inspired by local and international poets who use writing to raise social issues, particularly those of inequality, gender, the environment, and LGBTQIA+ rights.

Melissa Domiati (nee Tapper) is a Fremantle-born author and educator with a passion for poetry, life stories & empowering others to share their authentic voices.

Perth Poetry Club has wonderful poet Fran Graham plus open-mike this Saturday 17th February, 2pm-4pm, at The Moon Café and on Zoom.

Fran Graham has been published in journals and anthologies including Westerly and Best Australian Poems 2012. She developed her craft in Tasmania where she spent thirty years raising four children before moving to Western Australia in 2004. She spent 2005 teaching English in China at a senior secondary school south of Shanghai.
