Perth Poetry Club has wonderful poets Kathleen Dzubiel & Dick Alderson plus open-mike
this Saturday 11th May, 2pm-4pm, at The Moon Café and on Zoom.

Kathleen Dzubiel writes poetry and prose. She has performed her work at numerous writers' readings, events and on radio. She was awarded a Special Commendation in the KSP Poetry Awards 2017. Prior to the digital era, her work was published in many print journals, including Southerly, Mattoid, Going Down Swinging, Southern Review, the Courier Mail and Island. Recently, her poetry has appeared online in Creatrix. Kathleen is working on two major writing projects.

Dick Alderson grew up on a small farm near Perth, and worked as an engineer. He started writing poetry in the 1990s. His poems have appeared in various journals including Westerly and Australian Poetry Journal, also in the Anthology of Western Australian Poetry, and Australian Poetry Anthology 2021, and been highly commended in the Tom Collins Poetry Prize. His first collection, ‘The Astronomer’s Wife’ (Sunline Press 2014) was commended in the Anne Elder Awards. His poems come out of observation, memory, myth, family, cats, nature, the night sky. He lives near Fremantle and is a member of the Out of the Asylum Writers’ Group.
