Jake Dennis @PoetOfJazz is a Burmese-Australian entertainer (singer, poet, actor) based in Boorloo/Perth published last year in The Crow, Cuttlefish, Into the Wetlands, Mekong Review, and SUSPECT NY.
A 2023 Red Room Poetry Month #30in30, WAPI Poetry Festival Micro-Residency, and Queensland Poetry Mentorship with Naomi Shihab Nye winner, JD runs Bayswater Bookworms Book Club [https://www.facebook.com/groups/1205729026473770] and loves animals, art, food, literature, film, nature, television, and travel. After a decade’s break from poetry, during which Jake focused on singing, acting, and romance, Jake married the love of his life Stephanie and will be giving back to the community via poetry workshops and possibly a poetry book club in 2024.

Noël Florence is a local performer, advocate and visual artist, located on unceded Whadjuk Country of the Noongar nation; emigrated from Malaysia at a young age.
He has been creating songs, poems and scripts since he knew how to write.
First performing at Words Wide Night in June 2021, he is honoured to learn from other poets in Boorloo and worldwide. Featuring at Perth Poetry Club has been a dream since first attending and he is especially honoured to perform for you today.
