Saturday 17th September, Colin Young, Glen Hunting (NT) + open-mike at The Moon & Zoom!

Perth Poetry Club this Saturday 17th September 2pm-4pm has wonderful poets Colin Young + Glen Hunting (NT) + open-mike, via ZOOM and at THE MOON CAFÉ.

Colin Young twists his writing kaleidoscope to view the world in all its mystery. He’s interested in sexuality, nature and people’s different responses to love and death. He’s thrilled that his first book Between Stations has been published this year. And he’s grateful to the Perth poetry community that has helped and inspired him all the way.

Glen Hunting is a lapsed Swan Coastal Plainsman turned Red Centre exile. In other words, he hails from Boorloo, Whadjuk Noongar boodja, but currently lives in Mparntwe, Arrernte country (Alice Springs). His poems have been published or are forthcoming in Plumwood Mountain Journal, Portside Review, Burrow, Creatrix, and elsewhere.  His short stories have won the Zip Print Short Story Award and the Airnorth/NT Writers Festival Writing Competition (2019, 2022) and were twice shortlisted in the Margaret River Short Story Competition (2014 & 2015). His short stage drama “Real” was a finalist in the Bundanoon Crash Test Drama Competition (2020) and shortlisted for Short & Sweet in Dubai and Perth (2021, 2022).

He’s delighted to allow the customary Saturday afternoon police sirens and Harley Davidsons to cut through his in-person aural stylings at The Moon once again. It's just not the same on Zoom.

Please join us to celebrate poetry this Saturday afternoon 2pm - 4pm.

The venue is The Moon Café, 323 William St, Northbridge and on ZOOM.
