Our intended feature Joni Boyd has Covid and also is not feeling well at all and certainly not able to Zoom in either. We wish her a good recovery and will have her feature later in the year. Christine who was to MC, has kindly offered to feature, and feature she will, with a special treat as well.
Perth Poetry Club this Saturday 16th July has wonderful poet Christine Della Vedova + open-mike, at THE MOON CAFÉ, on Zoom.
Christine Della Vedova is a performance poet and poetry event organizer from around the way. On a semi-regular basis, she can be found hosting the scruffy yet venerable Perth Poetry Club.
Christine organizes the Perth chapter of “Woman Scream;” an annual event held to mark International Women’s Day. She also organizes the annual Junior Poetry Performance at Highgate Primary School, where she cheerfully indoctrinates kidlets with a love of poetry and literature.
Christine will deliver the Sami fairytale “The Clayman and the Golden Antlered Elk” + her own poetry.
The Sami peoples and culture encompass areas of Norway, Sweden, northern Finland and into bordering Russia. The Sami people have a heritage, rich in story and tales.
We are in for a great afternoon of poetry this Saturday afternoon 2pm - 4pm.
The venue is The Moon Café, 323 William St, Northbridge and on ZOOM.
