
The Western Australian Launch of Veils, Halos and Shackles: International Poetry on the Oppression and Empowerment of Women edited by Charles Adès Fishman and Smita Sahay; published by Kasva Press. The anthology will be presented by contributors Liana Joy Christensen, Rashida Murphy and Jan Napier, with a special guest appearance by Coral Carter.
As well as readings from the anthology, the evening will also feature a short ritual honouring the more than a hundred Australian women who have died as the result of violence in the last fifteen months. We respectfully acknowledge the research of Counting Dead Women Australia
Doors will be open at 6.30 p.m. for a 7 p.m. start.
As we are in a residential area we appreciate your consideration of local residents when returning to your cars.
Food, coffee and cakes will be available from the cafe. BYO drinks.
Tickets at the door: $10/$6.
Open mic. will operate as usual: 5 on a set list, 5 from the hat.
