Saturday 9th April, C.J. O'Harte + open-mike! at the Moon Cafe, on ZOOM

Perth Poetry Club this Saturday 9th April has wonderful poet C.J. O’Harte (Colin Harte) + open-mike, via ZOOM and at THE MOON CAFÉ.

C.J. O’Harte is a quirky, talented and very entertaining poet. 

He says that he is… “someone with mental health issues, posing as a social worker, posing as a reformed party boy, posing as a Buddhist, posing as a romantic, posing as a Trotskyist, posing as a shoddy reboot of the prodigal son, posing as a poet, perennially posing... Whatever he is no one will ever truly know.  Especially not himself...  
 
Saying that, in his 9 to 5 he is a grunt at the coal face of capitalism, working for a major not for profit.  In that role the has recently appeared before two federal parliamentary sub-committees, politely speaking over the top of elected senators explaining why payday loans and Robo-debt are sh**t. 
 
The major themes of his work are existential despair, somewhat overblown/undercooked critical theory and good old-fashioned love & hate. 
C.J. O’Harte believes that a poet’s job is to hold people’s hearts to account.  That is of course if they still have them.
