Saturday 9th October, Michael Drysdale + William Shakespeare + open-mike! at the Moon, on Zoom

This Saturday 9th October we have wonderful poet Michael Drysdale + the words of William Shakespeare + open-mike at the Moon Café and on Zoom.

Michael Drysdale studied acting at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts from 2009-2011. During his time at the academy he performed in Hamlet, Macbeth and a Shakespeare Anthology called Blood will Have Blood in which he performed an Iago soliloquy from the play Othello.

Since his High School days at John Curtin in Fremantle, Mike has actually performed in three different productions of Macbeth which remains his favourite of Shakespeare's plays, although it is a little like Sophie's Choice. As a creative director and writer himself, Mike is still regularly inspired by Shakespeare in his daily work. The bard's love of language, mastery of evocative imagery and specificity of character are all elements Mike will attempt to celebrate today as he shares some of his favourite sonnets and monologues from the bard, while inviting you to do the same.

Please join us to celebrate poetry this Saturday afternoon 2pm - 4pm, with usual open-mike as well.

The venue is Moon Café, 323 William St, Northbridge and on ZOOM.
