This Saturday 23rd January 2pm-4pm we have wonderful poets Samuel L Field and Liz Mistry + Indian dance from Kala + open-mike, VIA ZOOM and at THE MOON CAFÉ.
Samuel L Field … Crossing story telling with rawness, directness with twists and you approach the collection of work by Samuel L. Field. Sometime his words are a window into the mind and soul, others span universe and time, reaching for meaning beyond this frame. Crisscrossing beauty to pain, meaning to being lost, true undeserved love to that which is unreturned, reading or hearing some of his work can be a meal for the mind, soul and spirit.
Liz Mistry has a streak of creativity in the makeup of her nature. She has a background in nursing and trained in art therapy using varied art forms including poetry, story, myth, ritual and meditation to navigate the soul and psyche. Liz trained in drama in her youth and loves the stage. Poetry is a form of personal expression for Liz - painting with words. It provides a voice, an outlet and a mirror and to quote Joseph Campbell, ‘to be like a wheel rolling out of its own centre.' Another outlet for voice is via movement, and Liz’s words will be interpreted and turned into movement by dancer Kala.
Kala has background in classical India dance, and Kala will interpret words into Indian classical postures.
All this with open-mike. The venue is Moon Café, 323 William St, Northbridge. A great place to be this Saturday afternoon 2pm-4pm.
