Sturmfrei Poetry Night and Poetry Workshops as part of the WINTERarts!

There are a number of exciting poetry events and workshops in the coming weeks.

STURMFREI Poetry Night

Thursday 28 July, 7pm Studio Underground, State Theatre Centre Perth 174 -176 William Street, Perth.

Head downstairs to the Studio Underground Foyer at the State Theatre Centre. Listen to Australian poets Paul Hetherington, Amanda Joy and Siobhan Hodge while enjoying a beverage or two. Sturmfrei16 will also mark the launch of UWA Publishing's new poetry series, UWAP Poetry.

Enjoy a drink with us: off campus, out of bounds. Presented as part of the WINTERarts Festival 2016.

Poets featured at Sturmfrei16:

Paul Hetherington has published ten full-length volumes of poetry and four chapbooks. He has won or enjoyed shortlistings for numerous literary awards, and in 2014 won the Western Australian Premier’s Book Awards (poetry) for SixDifferent Windows (UWA Publishing). His latest collection, Burnt Umber, was released in May.

Amanda Joy is a poet and visual artist living in Fremantle, Western Australia. She won the 2016 Peter Porter Poetry Prize for her poem 'Tailings'.

Siobhan Hodge is currently the Reviews Editor for Writ Review, a contributing reviewer for Cordite Poetry Review, and an Associate Editor of Rochford Street Review. Her chapbook, PickingUp the Pieces, was published in 2012 .
