Saturday 9th July, Kevin Gillam & Cello + open-mike, at the Moon, on Zoom!

Perth Poetry Club this Saturday 9th July has wonderful poet Kevin Gillam & Cello + Cello Q&A + open-mike, at THE MOON CAFÉ, on Zoom.

Kevin Gillam is a West Australian born poet and music educator.  He has had 4 books of poetry published, the latest being “the moon’s reminder” (Ginninderra Press 2018).  He has performed at numerous events including the Queensland, Melbourne, Tasmanian and Perth Poetry Festivals as well as the Darwin and Geraldton Writer’s Festivals.  His poems have received numerous awards including first prize in the Spilt Ink Competition in 2020 and Tom Collins Prize in 2021.  He also collaborated with composer Iain Grandage in creating the song cycle “Blackwood” which was performed in the 2011 Perth International Arts Festival.

Cello Bio: Cello was made by Antonio Sannino in Naples in 1890, and is number 45 of 76 constructed.  Sannino also made violins and violas.

Cello Q&A – we will ask Cello some deep and personal questions as well as some fun ones e.g. do you like viola jokes?

Kevin & Cello have agreed to play background accompaniment for open-mikers if they wish.

We are in for a great afternoon of poetry this Saturday afternoon 2pm - 4pm.

The venue is The Moon Café, 323 William St, Northbridge and on ZOOM.
