Saturday 19th February, Tim Parkin + open-mike! at Moon Cafe

Perth Poetry Club this Saturday 19th February has wonderful poet Tim Parkin + open-mike at the Moon Cafe.

Tim Parkin is a hairy mammal who loves poetry and the poetry community but is never going to appear in Cordite or Westerly.  After years of wanton self-destruction without the excuse of poetic genius or fame, he drank a shitload of red wine four years ago and had a seizure. He was resuscitated by one of his best friends and with help has remained mostly sober ever since. Though the craziness that he numbed with substances often strikes again, he feels he is still better off than he was before staring into death’s eight ball eyes.

His passion for poetry was first kindled when he studied Keats in English Literature at high school, and by his mother’s love of the work of Dylan Thomas. He has always loved guinea pigs, and the current two are called Skunk Face and Jiggly Puff. They are the closest he will ever get to having kids (which is a good thing, especially for the potential kids).

He has been published in some local zines and done a few chap books. He writes for the love of poetry.

Please join us to celebrate poetry this Saturday afternoon 2pm - 4pm.

The venue is Moon Café, 323 William St, Northbridge
