This Saturday 24th July 2pm-4pm we have wonderful poet Deanne Leber + launch of her Constellations + open-mike at the Moon Café and on Zoom.

Deanne Leber is a writer, with poetry being her first love. She has worked on a collection of poems as part of her PhD project at Edith Cowan University.
This collection, Constellations, is framed around the 88 constellations, as devised by the International Astronomical Union. As much as Constellations is a visual work, it is also aural.
Each poem has been formed very much like black out or erasure poetry - but for Constellations the text has been whited out. In the digital copy, Word has coloured line fragments, where it perceives a grammatical or spelling error - but the original text is gone. The final poems reflect the constellation shape.

Open-mikers are encouraged to read poems about stars – no compulsion though, best to come armed with your poems and also hear Deanne Leber.
