Saturday 27th February, Jenna Storer + Michael Drysdale + open-mike at the Moon and Zoom!

This Saturday 27th February 2pm-4pm we have wonderful poets Jenna Storer + Michael Drysdale + open-mike, at the Moon Café and via Zoom.

Jenna Storer is born in Sydney, her family moved to Queensland when young, grew up in the Gold Coast hinterland. Her parents were often at odds with each other. She worked in retail and hospitality, married and has 2 beautiful daughters. As a young family she moved to Western Australia in 1999, mother and homemaker for a few years. Now in support work, having a rewarding position managing a team and assisting someone with a disability to live a full life. She describes herself as quite a peacemaker and diplomat, also a bit eccentric and playful, a bit of an introvert who suffers anxiety, and often too hard on herself. Now divorced, relearning life as a single. In her words, “Poetry has not always been part of my life, it's been very sporadic until recently, when I discovered the Perth Poetry Club late last year and came to the Poetry Festival. I’m very much enjoying being part of a lovely group of poets.”

Michael Drysdale is the founder of local branded entertainment and creative agency Dear Storyteller. He uses poetry as a gateway into better understanding and expanding his own experiences and the experiences of others. Growing up in Perth, Mike dreamed of becoming an actor and studied acting at WAAPA from 2009-2011. An avid lover of Shakespeare and Dungeons & Dragons his poetry often blends modern and classic language and themes. Mike believes creativity and art stand alone in their unique ability to illicit the sensations that make us feel alive. His mission is to tell stories that make listeners feel less alone. His poetry explores moments of humanity, mixed with portraits of memorable people that have passed through his life.

All this with open-mike. The venue is Moon Café, 323 William St, Northbridge.
