Saturday 12th of March, Amy Hilhorst and Caitlin Mahony!

Saturday 12th March 2016, Amy Hilhorst and Caitlin Mahony!

Two great feature poets this week at Perth Poetry Club.

Amy Hilhorst (pictured left) is a Perth poet who has been performing her creative work for just over a year.  Amy has poems published or forthcoming in Writ Review, Trove, Verity La and Westerly New Creative.  A postgraduate student at UWA, Amy researches the poetry of Francis Webb, Bruce Beaver, and Michael Dransfield.  A focus of her research is how these writers use poetic language to portray psychiatric illness and life in the hospital ward.  In this feature, Amy will share poems inspired by literary/historical figures, travelling, and life in WA.

Caitlin Mahony (pictured right) is a teacher/writer recently returned from Warracknabeal, country Victoria.  Poetry-wise, Caitlin has been MC and feature at Perth Poetry Club, has been published in the online poetry magazines Uneven Floor and Deep Water Literary Review, and has self published two zines Read Between The Lions and Facetiousbook.  Caitlin has performed at open mic poetry gigs in Australia, England and France.  Her interests include Maths, Physics and ants.  You’ll have to be at Perth Poetry Club to find out why.

Join us to hear Amy Hilhorst and Caitlin Mahony this Saturday afternoon 2pm – 4pm at The Moon Café, 323 William Street, Northbridge.  Open Mike as always.
