Saturday 27th October, Vivienne Glance, Des Pensable & Ann Gilchrist!

This Saturday 27th October 2018 we have three wonderful poets, Vivienne Glance + Des Pensable + Ann Gilchrist at Perth Poetry Club.

Vivienne Glance's poetry collections are The Softness of Water (Sunline Press, 2009), and A Simple Rain (Lethologica Press, 2012).  Other poems are featured in journals and anthologies, including Westerly, Mascara Review, Blue Dog, Text and others.  Her plays have been produced in Australia and around the world and many are published online by Australian Plays.

Vivienne holds a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Western Australia where she is currently an Honorary Research Fellow.  She has been awarded several writing residencies including the Djerassi Resident Arts Program in USA.

Des Pensable is a native of Sydney where he usually lives with his partner Joanne.  They are grey nomads wandering with the wind around Australia and currently in Perth.  Des has a PhD in neuroscience and worked as a biomedical scientist where he published widely in several areas of science.  Since retiring, he’s been a keen writer of poetry, stories and philosophy which appear on his web, blog site and on line literary publications.  He has a book of his poetry available for a small price.  He recently had two poems published in XoXo magazine a trendy art magazine.

Des is a performance poet that appears regularly in venues around Sydney such as Caravan, Don Banks, Word in the Hand and others.  He has recently self-published the three books “Visions of Chaos”, “Agents of Chaos” and “Edge of Chaos” of his Divinity Seeds trilogy, a new epic fantasy story which is available in both e-book and paperback format.  He is currently working on the second trilogy. for details see - http://divinityseeds.com.au/ and http://www.despensable.com.au/

Ann Gilchrist spent her childhood on the banks of the Firth of Forth in Fife, Scotland.  She came to WA when she was 24. She won her first award for poetry in primary school and has been waiting for another ever since.  Ann loves to capture visual images of moments, memories and landscapes in poetry.  She views her poems as canvases that don't need wall space.  Creativity is an important part of her life - it helps to keep her relatively sane.
