Saturday 5th May: Daphne Milne + Obscure Sparrow!

This Saturday, it’s Daphne Milne and Obscure Sparrow as our features, 5th May 2018 at Perth Poetry Club.

Daphne Milne has been coming to Australia for over ten years and now lives here permanently.

Her first poem was published in a school magazine at the age of ten.  Since then she has had work in many grown up magazines and anthologies both in print and on line.

She is delighted that a poem she read at PPC a month ago was chosen by the Poetry Super Highway for their special edition to commemorate World Holocaust Day.

Daphne also writes short stories, flash fiction and prose poems which vary from the darkly humorous to the vaguely sinister.  She is currently working on a flash novella and a collection of short stories.  Her poetry pamphlet The Blue Boob Club is due out later this year from Indigo Dreams Press.

Obscure Sparrow is a recent addition to our poetry family.  In his own words, “Obscure Sparrow - legal name: Jawed Sadiqi.  I write down specifically arranged strings of words to try to capture still moments otherwise transient in breath”.

Join us to hear two engaging performers Daphne Milne and Obscure Sparrow this Saturday afternoon 2pm-4pm at the Moon Café, 323 William Street Northbridge.
