Saturday 27th January, Arad Nik!

This Saturday, it’s Arad Nik as our feature on 27th January 2018 at Perth Poetry Club.

Arad Nik (Niksefat) is a Persian writer and poet.  Seeking asylum in Australia.

Arad fled his country in August 2012 after being imprisoned and persecuted for writing about and advocating for his minority group.  He came to Australia by boat and spent 15 months in detention before being released into the community, initially in Victoria. Arad has been living in Perth for the past year. He is currently working on a collection of short stories about his and others experience of seeking asylum and being a refugee in Australia. Many people describe his writing as "deeply moving."

He has performed at various poetry events in Victoria and Perth, most recently performing as one of the “21 Pillars” in Fremantle, last year.

Please join us to hear Arad Nik, plus Open-mike this Saturday afternoon 2pm-4pm at the Moon Café, 323 William Street Northbridge.
