Saturday 8th of July, Amanda Joy!

Our feature poet is Amanda Joy, this Saturday 8th July 2017 at Perth Poetry Club.

Amanda Joy is a poet and visual artist living in Fremantle, Western Australia. She has written two poetry chapbooks, Orchid Poems (Mulla Mulla Press) and Not Enough to Fold (Verve Bath Press, USA). Her poems have been included in journals and anthologies, including The Best of Australian Poems, Regime, and Toronto Quarterly. She is a selector for Creatrix Haiku Journal. She is winner of the 2016 Peter Porter Poetry Prize for her poem Tailings.

Amanda will read from her latest book Snake Like Charms, a book described as “teeming with life, a celebration of families surrounded by animals, a book where ideas snake through the lines like arteries… where the poet takes a hard look at the world now, and yet comes up with a hugely optimistic book.”

Please join us at The Moon Café, 323 William Street Northbridge this Saturday 2pm-4pm to hear Amanda Joy.  Open-mike as always.
