Saturday 4th March, "LITeral Women : Versing Gender" with Zan Ross, Sally Gaunt, Maddie Godfrey & Saoirse Nash! MC-ed by Christine Della Vedova.

It’s LITeral Women : Versing Gender this Saturday 4th March 2017 at Perth Poetry Club with Zan Ross, Sally Gaunt, Maddie Godfrey & Saoirse Nash.  MC-ed by Christine Della Vedova.  Open mike as always...

In celebration of International Women’s Day, we decided to get in early and showcase these four fabulous poets:

Zan Ross has published poetry in all the usual Australian literary journals, a few in Canada, Budapest, Paris, the USA, and on-line zines.  She has had two collections published, B-Grade (Monogene Press) and Enpassant (Fremantle Arts Centre Press, and a chapbook Je Ne Sais Quoi (Vagabond Press).   Zan is an accomplished poet and spoken word performer, and has been part of Perth Poetry Club for many years.

Sally Gaunt is a trained lawyer, but one of her passions lies in poetry, being part of the Perth poetry scene since before 2004.  Her early first anthology Poetry of Passion and Praise (Access Press) conveys a journey to maturity, being observant, thoughtful and also whimsical.  She may respect the rule of law but also love and affection.

Maddie Godfrey is a Perth-bred poet currently based in London.  She has been described as “a poetry fireball” and spewer of words.  Maddie has performed at prestigious venues such as The Sydney Opera House, The Bowery Poetry Club and The Royal Albert Hall.  She is internationally published and acclaimed.  Maddie has received sold out audiences and rave reviews for her 2017 Perth Fringe show “If My Body Was A Poem”.  You can find her online at:  www.facebook.com/maddiegodfreypoet  or  www.maddiegodfrey.com

Saoirse Nash is a Perth poet who was born in Ireland. She works as part of the Spoken Word Perth team and is passionate about words, ideas and compassion. Saoirse grew up with wild swans visiting her doorstep daily and Irish folklore for bedtime stories.  This is  reflected in her poetry, as is her more recent life in the inner suburbs of Perth. She is just excited to hear your poetry as she is to read her own.

Your MC for the event is the entertaining Christine Della Vedova.
